Entrepreneur, Investor &
Co- Founder of SCAFFKiT
Introduction
Born in Gisborne, New Zealand on 1st March 1980, Paratene (Para) Waikari relocated to Perth, Western Australia at the age of 2. Para experienced a traumatic childhood resulting in suppressing his emotions in fear of the consequences. The resilience and mental strength acquired through childhood adversity was applied to his chosen sports of rugby league, touch rugby and boxing, leading to a high school rugby league scholarship and selection in the Perth Junior Western Reds Rugby League team.
Para began working in the scaffolding industry in his early twenties, not long after meeting his life partner Mary. They were married in 2008, and now have four beautiful children together, which he states to be both challenging and extremely rewarding. Para’s employment resume exhibits loyalty, professionalism and a high acumen for business innovation.
